'Tirol' chocolate - Matcha

Posted by Linda on 29. 2012 0 comments
I don't think I need to constantly emphasize how much I love Matcha flavored confectionery, so needless to say I was excited about these new renewed Matcha flavor chocolates manufactured by Tirol Chocolate (abbreviated as 'Tirol').

these pieces of dark green matcha chocolate were quite decent sized and the amount of matcha flavor in the chocolate was quite strong suggesting that a rather substantial amount of matcha content was infused into the choc. Each chocolate also contained a piece of matcha jelly embedded inside, the jelly was firm and chewy in texture and really helped to further enhance the overall flavor of matcha. The chocolate itself was rich and smooth in texture & consistency too.
Overall this is without a doubt one of my favorite Tirol chocolates, really rich & balanced flavors, beautiful textures and consistencies and just overall very well executed I just can't get enough of it!

gosh! It's been so long since I last blogged about Tirol chocolate!
Today I'll be blogging about the coffee jelly flavor, I ordered a set of 4 blocks of this @ NapaJapan:

each block had a piece of REAL coffee jelly embedded in a thick layer of coffee chocolate and topped with a thinner layer of white choc. I loved this! Both the choc and jelly brought out a very strong pleasant and accurate flavor of freshly brewed coffee, the coffee jelly was nicely thick, firm and chewy, and the choc was melting in your mouth.
Also, the size of each piece of these Tirol chocs were bigger than the classic Tirol flavors I had tried in the past, adding to my delight.
I have not tried an awfully lot of Tirol chocs, but among all those that I have tried so far, this is definitely one of my favorites!and it should be one of Tirol's most popular flavors.

My rating (overall):

I certainly recommend you try these delightful Tirol chocolates, especially all the special flavors such as this Coffee jelly flavor! You can order these Tirol chocs @ NapaJapan:

for most special flavors, you can order them in a set of 4 pieces starting from US$2.79 @ NapaJapan, take my word for it, they are so worth the money!

I love these little square chocolates from Tirol, they've been around in Japan for so many decades! They come in so many different flavors!
Today I'll blog about 4 of the flavors, they came in a pack of 8 chocs, 2 of each flavor.

Firstly, the original 'Tirol' chocolate:

it's basically milk choc with some caramel in the center...I didn't quite like this one much because I hate caramel! It always sticks to my teeth...but I really liked the milk choc though...my mom loved this better than I did.
